Yes, though our HIPAA guidelines for texting need to be followed.
Yes, we have end-to-end encryption for SMS and MMS.
Currently, SMS/MMS messages are stored indefinitely.
To better combat texting SPAM, the FCC requires all businesses to register their number before they can text.

Eligibility & Setup

No, the essential package does NOT include SMS/MMS.
No, the account must be Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate, Core, Engage, or Power Suite packages.
Caller ID is only available for phone calls, not text messages. Unless saved as a contact, all inbound texts will only show the number.
No, the SMS/MMS number must be the primary number associated with the user. We do offer an additional service that allows a team of people to share a single number for texting.

Limits & Usage

Yes, each license type has a limited number of messages each user can send and receive per month:
• Professional — Up to 1,000 SMS/MMS per user / month
• Enterprise — Up to 2,000 SMS/MMS per user / month
• Ultimate — Up to 2,000 SMS/MMS per user / month
• Core — Up to 100 SMS/MMS per user / month
• Engage — Up to 250 SMS/MMS per user / month
• Power Suite — No limit
Yes, the NextivaONE Productivity Plugin allows your users to have unlimited SMS/MMS messages. Contact our sales team for pricing information.
No, messages sent using Message Pro do not count against a user's limits.
No, there is a maximum of 10 recipients for a single message.
A single message has a character limit of 2,000 characters, including spaces.

Media & Delivery

Currently supported formats:
• Image: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png
• Audio: .mp3
• Video: .wav, .mp4
There is a 1MB limit for all attachments sent via MMS.
We support receiving messages from shortcodes, but cannot guarantee outbound messages will be delivered to shortcodes.
Not at this time, but we are working to enable this feature in the future.
